Snow jacket, pants, goggles--all the essentials from San Francisco’s only independently owned gear rental business. Starting from just $46 for a whole weekend.
Start your rentalThis place is awesome! I was suppose to borrow a snowboarding jacket from my friend, but something happened where I can't get it from her. So I was scrambling and calling stores to see if they have anymore snow gears, but no luck. Since I was suppose to go to Tahoe that day, I was going to give up but I found Last Minute Gear! I called James and told him that I was leaving to Tahoe in 2 hours and I needed a jacket. James was so quick and made sure everything was taken care of. I told him my friend was going to pick it up for me. James said to tell my friend to call him and he would ran out to hand it to him. My friend didn't even need to get out of the car!
We planned a last minute trip to Tahoe two weeks ago. (Seriously last minute!) Luckily, I was able to stop by the store after work for my snow pants, goggles, gloves, a jacket and a mask the night before we left for Tahoe.
I urgently needed snow gear since we made a last minute trip plan to Tahoe. I checked Last Minute Gear by the referral of a friend. They were really helpful and friendly. They made my last minute trip hassle easy and sorted out all the gears in minutes before I left for Tahoe. Thanks a lot!
I borrowed snow gear: a snow coat, pants, balaclava, helmet, and a sleeping bag. Great quality gear for a very affordable price :)My only complaint is that the pickup location is a little ambiguous. There are no signs to indicate that the pickup is a lobby of an old hotel. Be forewarned. Happy lending!
Great experience! Rented some snow pants, snow jacket, helmet, gloves, balaclava and snow shoes for a trip to Tahoe. James was a pleasure to work with - smooth pick up/drop off. Perfect for a first ski trip!
My partner and I stopped by Last Minute Gear a couple weeks ago for some very last-minute reservations for our first backpacking trip. The gear we rented (marmot sawtooth sleeping bag + neo air sleeping pad) kept us toasty and well rested, and the backpacking stove was easy to use and pack away. If you're normally a car camper like me or completely new to camping, I would recommend checking Last Minute Gear out!
Hi, I'm James. My first taste of the outdoors was with an inner city youth organization in Texas that let me borrow gear for an upcoming camping trip (read: I have indoorsy parents). These early experiences created a lifelong love for exploring the backcountry. I started Last Minute Gear to do for others what that youth organization did for me: give access to the outdoors, in a low cost way that also doesn't perpetuate unnecessary overconsumption and actually reduces waste.
Whether to rent a crash pad to climb on the beach in San Francisco (pictured), ultralight backpacking gear for the John Muir Trail, or just a sleeping bag to stay with a friend abroad, we have you covered. By renting our durable, high-quality gear, you are helping reduce waste, over-consumption, and promote sustainability.
